Everything for Everyone.

In striving to be everything for everyone, I lost sight of who I was.

In the attempt to escape inevitable rejection, I rejected myself by not allowing myself to be the unique person I am designed to be. I let others define my worth, as well as my identity.

There is a deep desire within each of our hearts to love and be loved. To be cherished and accepted. However, no matter how hard you try, not everyone will see the best in you. This realization is terrifying, yet liberating. 

For when you are who you are created to be, instead of portraying a fake image of who others want you to be, not everyone will like you. Instead, the right people will love you. When you aren’t putting on a show, you won't be noticed by everyone. Instead, you will be fully known by people who make you feel seen. You will be accepted by the people meant to be in your life, despite your flaws and imperfections. 

In times of rejection and heartbreak, do not allow the opinions of others to define you. For we aren’t designed to be everything for everyone. We are designed to live for an audience of One. 

This is my eulogy of living for the acceptance of others. Instead, I will live as who I was created to be, and trust the right people will not pass me by. My friends are living proof of this. For they have seen me at my highest and lowest, and chose to love me through it all.
