a lament.

Lord, I can’t help but cast blame,

for if you are Sovereign, 

why do you allow pain?

why don’t you stop

the starving of children,

the cries of the innocent, 

the killing of men?

why did you allow 

Eve to be tempted with sin,

and permit brokenness to begin?

although i don’t have an answer,

and perhaps never will,

i will trust you when i cannot see,

clinging on to the hope of eternity. 

for one day, all will be restored,

every tear wiped away

by the hand of the Lord.

on the cross it was finished,

but i trust you are not done,

for when your kingdom come,

the curse of sin will be undone.
