Sorority Rush Advice.
To a PNM going through recruitment,
Last year, I was walking in your high heeled shoes. I know you are trying not to say anything wrong, in order to find a house in which you belong. I remember striving for perfection, yet feeling the sting of rejection.
In the Bible, a man named Joseph was rejected by his very own brothers and sold into slavery. Although he wasn't where he expected to be, he found purpose in his placement, trusting the Lord. He made the most of his postition, serving others with a spirit of excellence. He later rose to prominence due to his faithfulness.
During this process, you may be cut by sorority houses. However, like Joseph, I hope you let rejection refine you instead of define you. During rush, do the opposite: be still and know He is God. There is purpose in your placement. There is purpose in each house you visit.
So, instead of focusing on walking perfectly in your high heels, rememeber to walk in love. Most importantly, remember you were made for more than Greek life- you were made for eternal life.
