Reflecting on 2023.
The year my entire life changed. The year I graduated. The year I moved away from my hometown and started college. The year my best friend moved countries. The year I made new friendships I don’t know how I lived without.
With change comes highs and lows, mountains and valleys. The biggest lesson I learned in 2023 is that circumstances will inevitably shift. However, the Lord is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). A year of change is a year of growth when we are rooted in Christ. Change forces us to adapt to our circumstances, to evolve, and to break out of our comfort zone. Change is terrifying, yet liberating.
My prayer for 2024 is through the changing of the seasons and the changing of my circumstances, I will be content. “For everything there is a season… a time to be born, and a time to die, a time to weep, and a time to laugh, a time to mourn, and a time to dance.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8). In every season, may my heart remain in Christ.
